Don't stay Fashionable, stay STYLISH

Style is away

When you want to say

Who you actually are

Whether a STUD or a STAR

When you are the master of your own elegance it makes you special.

As we say, Fashion will fade but Style remains eternal.

While growing up, I realized, I had very strong likes and dislikes as far as clothes were concerned. After I completed my 12th grade, my Mom got me enrolled in a stitching class. Soon I was making my own clothes. My entire college years had me wearing a new dress almost every day. To be honest it gave me a purpose, with admiration and envy pouring from all corners. The best part being, that it was all so pocket-friendly, all I needed to do was coax my Mom into buying me the fabric.

I did my post-graduation in Fashion Designing from South Delhi Women's Polytechnic and worked in a high-end boutique as a designer.

Although with time my interest shifted to domestic responsibilities, creative writing and music, designing took a back seat. Still, analysing the latest trends has always fascinated me.

I have always admired people who never accepted whatever was thrown at them in the name of fashion. These people enjoyed their own intrinsic taste while dressing up. Just for instance we can't imagine Steve Jobs without his turtle-necks and blue denims or for that matter actress Rekha not in her Kanjivarams with flowers braided in her hair. It was/ is their signature-style.

The first thing I notice, when I meet a person for the first time, is not what he/she looks like but what he/she is wearing from top to bottom. I agree it's a quirk not very acceptable but my idiosyncrasy, I can't help. I don't notice brands as much but I definitely see if the person is dressed just to impress or is intrinsically feeling comfortable and confident. He/she should not suit the garment but vice-versa.

For me, comfort always comes first. I prefer my clothes simple and loose-fitting. I normally don't wear sarees but when I do, I make sure my footwear is comfortable so that I can concentrate on carrying the former elegantly. Even when I am wearing a Lehenga, I pair it with sneakers. This way I am happily movable and excitedly on my toes. My mobility should never be restricted, so I have never owned stilettos or any other kind of high-heeled footwear.

To each his own. This is my preference and choice.

😇

A person can be fat or thin

But he needs to be comfortable in his skin

He can look great in almost anything

Provided he can exuberate confidence from within.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Will keep you updated regarding the current cool and sassy styles. 😎
